10 things i'm enjoying about being back in Boston (aside from being with family and old friends again. that's a given.)
in no particular order.
10. as someone stated, free-flowing potable water. seriously. clean water should be a right, not a gift.
9. not standing out as much as i do in g-town. no one points and says, "chinita." i am virtually anonymous; i blend in!
8. threading. this south asian method of hair removal is awesomely efficient and effective. eyebrows are back under control. phew.
7. food binging. it's already started: sashimi plate (phasea 1-5 of operation death-by-mercury-poisoning has commenced), real chinese food, home grilling, cracker barrel, seafood.
6. driving. there are rules! people abide by traffic lights! they drive offensively! i can predict what they will do! some higher administration has granted them permission to drive! giant multi-colored buses aren't trying to kill me!
5. currency. i have a schema in place for US currency. not having to divide by 7.712 when i am trying to discern the value of an item.
4. public library. i went online to look up books and already have nine library books coming to me from libraries all over MA.
3. riding public transportation with my ipod on. then getting off the subway and walking to my destination with my ipod.
2. salads. everywhere. beautiful salads.
1. the Bahstin accent. i watch the local news; it's all ovah thah place.
and there you have it.
