despite living here for almost seven months, there are still some days when i stop and think, "whoa, i live in guate."
the most recent revelations include: "dude i'm in a book club in g-town" and "i'm going food shopping in g-mala" and most exciting, "i'm planning for my parents' visit in g-holla!" i also have the "wait, what?" moments on the days when i feel like i'm having a stroke because the spanish is not getting out of my brain fast enough. i actually check myself to see if i'm having a stroke (outstretch arms at shoulder height, smile and produce a coherent sentence.)
