i think i must be coming down with something. yesterday i wandered into a friend's office and sat in a chair for 35 minutes, unable to move. then i went to go eat something and had a hard time motivating myself to stand up from the lunch table. then i went to two meetings and fought fatigue the entire time.
today i had a few dizzy spells, too. one of them occurred mid-statement, while i was reviewing some addition properties with 3rd graders. i said, "whoa," stopped talking, and the kids were concerned.
"what's the matter meeees?" (i don't really get called miss m--, just meeees)
"oh, i'm ok, i'm just feeling a little sick right now."
"it must be because we weren't listening to you." (V. age 9)
Hey Miss Moy! Glad to read your blog!! I am so happy that you are doing okay down there, and I'm sure that in no time (if not already), you'll be totally loving life there in Guate. I miss my church, and things Latina, but I have some praise music in Spanish that I listen to sometimes in the car.
ReplyDeleteHope that you are feeling alright! The kid's right - he must have been giving you the headache for not listening. Don't you wish that kids would sometimes perform just to please us??? Just kidding. I love my Thai kids at my Thai school, but sometimes they try to please me too much.
When doing a final assignment (mindmap reviewing all the topics I taught), my kid Saeng asked me, "Teacher, what colors do you like the most?" I told him, "You know already. What colors do I like?". "I know, Teacher Julie likes yellow and purple." And then he colors everything on his page in yellow and purple. Yeesh!
